GIRL POWER & OTHER VALUES
+

Inez Weissman was a staple in the New York art scene and found herself enmeshed in the world of the great American modern artists of the era. At one time she lived with her cousin - Louise Nevelson, the renowned sculptor in Greenwich Village. During this time, their crew consisted of Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Jackson Pollack, Georgia O’Keefe and Josh White. Inez's work, whether it be a study of the human form, a still life, or an abstract, is best known for its boldness, passion, and strong use of color. She was also known as a political activist in many arenas, including the trade union, civil rights and the feminist movements. What a badass lady!
